31/08/2010

As if its almost September, I'm sat here in my pjs, watching the devil wears prada, and contemplating this year. Its a weird year this year. As some of you may know I left school a year early, for no reason except it wasn't for me. Working for a year, as well as doing an internship in events co-ordination really taught me to grow up. And in 3 weeks time I will have just completed my first day back at college. I am so excited that I've got back into this. Because of my new found studentship, I decided to 'reinvent myself'. So maybe this isn't that drastic, but I threw out about 70% of my wardrobe and shoes, and bought it back, as well as starting the Dukan diet, which hurts I have to tell you, but god damn it it works. Orginising my home and life (I got a diary to make that easier). So yes, they're my thoughts for today :)

What would you guys like to see on the blog more? Outfits, posts like this one or celeb/fashion? Let me know :)

Anna Paquin at the Emmys

Anna Paquin at the Emmys, wearing Mcqueen Resort.
This dress will always be her dress in my eyes, beautiful.

nobody likes change

so this is me getting used to a new camera. awkward isn't it?
this is just a quick post, just haven't posted an outfit in a while, thought it was about time i did. this is a brand spanking new blazer, £20 in the new look sale. i love the double buttons and the navy colour (which isn't showing very well, but it is love), paired with a plain dark top from h&m, my usual drop crotch baggy jeans from next, g-star belt and beloved ray ban wayfarers. it was a very good "im just running about, but i want to look chic" outfit i felt.
i'm day one of the dukan diet attack phase. and i'm craving carbs. this is sad.

I though I'd post a blog about me, just with kind of a general insight into my life. I'll start with a little basic facts, and put a bit more about myself every few days

Age: 18
Relationship Status: In a Relationship
Occupation: Retail Assistant/Business Student
Favorite City: Krakow, Poland
Favorite Movie: The September Issue

Favorite Blog: stylescrapbook.com

now just for a general update on my life :)
this week has been crazy, everything seems so much worse when you're under the weather. i orginised the whole of my room today, my friends say its like i live in a walk in wardrobe, which is very true, clothes and accessories everywhere. i love clearing out my room, fresh start and stuff, just in time for college. I start college in about 3 weeks, its going to come so quickly, i need to start reading soon :S or else i'll be behind before i start. but before that i'm heading to Krakow for 4 days with my girlfriend, for a break to my favorite city, i love it there, its beautiful. starting tuesday i'm going on the dukan diet, only protein for a week, then slowly introducing everything else. apparently its why the french are thin, i want to be french, it works so well dont you think?
hopefully some more looks to come soon, when i was clearing out i found some gems i'm going to be wearing. watch this space :)

sexy? hell yes.

a) wow
b) wow
c) i love Christina Hendricks, but that is not her waist.
These are the photos of Mad Men's busty bombshell Christina Hendricks in the new London Fog campaign.  I love this women, she has an amazing body. These photos are also so classic and chic, that I've fallen in love. I would complain about the over use of photoshop, but its fashion. What can I do.

bad picture quality.

so after my mini illness hiatus i'm back. this outfit isn't the most original, and the picture takes away from the main bit of the top, an amazing cowl neck come hood. but i thought id post it anyway, the blog was looking a bit bare. i love these sunglasses i'm wearing, i want more but i have no idea where they're from. if you know, please let me know asap, i'm in need.

i also wanted to use this blog to show you one of my most prized possetions, my pandora bracelet. My girfriend started me off with the bracelet, a panda charm(my favorite animal), and the most beautiful ying-yang charm. i've added enough to this one, but i'm thinking of getting a white leather one for next summer as well, who knows.

Je suis désolé

i'm very sorry for the lack of updates recently. as i said in an earlier post my grandmother was up so i was spending time with her, and then i was working, and then i was ill. not a good mix. but tomorrow i am seeing some friends, i'm going to post an outfit then. its very very like my previous outfits, this dull weather makes it hard for me to be original.

McQueen

this amazing creation is said to be the last ever dress Alexander McQueen touched before his death.
A true fashion legend.

White T-Topman, Cardigan-Made by Me, Vintage Wash Jeans-Next, Red Wayfarers-Asos

So I know I said that I was going to try and incorporate my vintage DKNY shirt into this outfit, but its hot out, and the shirt is black and requires layering, more winter attire. This is a very laid back, just thrown on to spend a day with the family. Although I'm really starting to like it, it may start making more appearances. The cardigan was just an oversized jumper cut down the middle, I like it. This is my first post with my new not so new camera. I actually this they're alright. I'm going to start using this camera.

hallelujah

i have a camera! It may only be 3.2 megapixels, and older than most of the clothes I own, but it has self timer and its not a webcam, so hopefully better outfit posts coming soon. If not then I will have to revert back to the macbook, bain of my life i tell you.

ill/sick/unwell

So I know I promised a new outfit post today, I had it all planned for after I went to shop. Unfortunately this unknown illness has come over me, fever, headaches and an inability to wear anything other than sweats an over sized nautical tee. This is not an outfit I plan to share. So I am sorry, but over the past week or so I have cleared out my wardrobe, and found a lovely vintage DKNY shirt, which I will try and incorporate into a realllly good outfit to show you guys tomorrow, as I have been dying to wear it.

So yes, as I posted yesterday, I was after a new pair of shoes for work, but unfortunately both the pairs below were not what they seemed, so I opted for brown leather instead. A chic outfit has now been put together, very Italiano. I will make sure to do an outfit post when they arrive, around Saturday to my dismay.

I have quite a week to look forward to, my nanna is coming up for a week, I haven't seen her since Christmas, I am tres excited. Then its A-Level results on Thursday, which means Durham will be packed with celebrations and commiserations. Although I am not getting any results, my girlfriend is so I will be there with her. Then Saturday is my work summer party, I've never been to one of these before, and I don't know what to wear. Outfit post in the making I hear.

I'm sat in bed watching the Devil Wears Prada, and it just got interesting. Speak tomorrow.

silver

I feel like I haven't updated in so long, when I looked, it was only yesterday. I think this is the start of a blogging addiction. i hope :). I've just been at work constantly these past 2 days, I've had no time for an outfit post, or any other post for that matter. But being at work for 2 days straight allowed me to have a look at the new seasons stock. Now I'm not big no Next clothes, I'm more vintage personally, but the accessories had me going all kinds of crazy. Above are 2 shoes that I'm considering getting, the first pair aren't shown to their true potential, they are in fact the most silver shoes I think I've ever seen, I am in pure love, as you can probably tell. These are a definite purchase, I'm rushing to the shop tomorrow as I forgot my card today. Love.  The second pair remind me of old Chanel, I think its the two-tone vibe, but I'm defiantly falling head over heels over here. These will be my secondary purchase, but I know I'll have both pairs by the end of the week. Fo'Sho.
Both shoes- £50 from Next

My second love item is the week, is by far far far far the most beautiful messenger bag I've ever seen.  This Burberry beauty took my breath away, at a price of £1600, it is a little out of my price range, but I've seen a black satchel from ASOS, and some faux fur from my local fabric shop, armed with a needle and thread I think I'll incorperate fur into my wardrobe in about 2 hours, I hope.

wow.

so i've only had this blog a few days, and i wasn't sure how it was going to pan out, so much so that i have yet to tell my family/friends/girlfriend about it.
but i went onto my google analytics today and it told me that this blog has so far been read in the UK, USA, Canada, the Netherlands, Slovinia and Russia.
I know to more seasoned bloggers this may not be such a big deal, but I just want to say thank you, this really means a lot to me.

the september issue

"September is the January in Fashion"
Wise words from the amazing Candy Pratts Price, and if this is true, then I could not think of a better way of ringing in the year than with Halle Berry. The Oscar winning beauty has never looked more stunning than she does on the Vogue US cover. The editorial shows her in amazing gowns, flowing down to the floor, which show off Halle's elegance and beauty to a t.
I am convinced this 726 page bible will fly off the shelves, but if anyone has an extra copy, how about sending it to me in little old England?

Osprey

Cowl Neck T-Topman, Black Cargo Jeans-Next, Black Boots-Vintage, Bracelets-Various, Oversized Waller-Vintage Osprey, Black Wayfarers-Ray Ban

This outfit was modeled off the look of off duty models. I love the effortless style, the grey and blacks, the fits, everything. I was just running errands today, getting my hair tripped, doing some shopping. Nothing exciting. This outfit is just a basic go to, although this is the first time I've used this wallet. Its vintage osprey I found in a shop ages ago, my first vintage purchase actually, but I've never had a time/place to use it. So I made one. I'm sorry for the horrible quality of these photos, seems however much you pay for a macbook, the webcam does not do an outfit justice. Shame.

There won't be an outfit post for the next few days, I'm working full days and my work uniform is not something to blog about.

camel.

Beige Jumper-Vintage, Drop Crotch Jeans-Next, Red Wayfarers-ASOS, Brown Leather Satchel-River Island

I'm loving the camel colour palette this season, although I can't wear it without spicing it up with some bright colour of some sort. But this jumper is sure to be a wardrobe staple this season, for layering under and above. Plus it was only £8, steal.

ps there is a white square on the picture, i don't know why its there, it isn't part of the outfit

Balenciaga Spring 2011 Menswear RTW

I love this collection with all my heart, I've always appreciated Nicolas Ghesquière's designs but I would love to own this whole collection. I love the silhouette that's been created here, with belts pinching in at the waist. The studded corset like belts are to die for, I'll buy them for Spring/Summer but I'll wear them every single season, mark my words. The trench is so matronly its beautiful, the trousers are baggy enough to float amazingly but not too much to make it look like I'm wearing a nappie, and I love putting grey/black/white panels all together. And, of course, I love all things leather, this leather jacket is amazing, and I'm so glad I already own the topman replica, because now all I need are the cropped black trousers & grey loafers and this will be my throw on look. Yum.
